Well another week has gone by and I don’t know if I’m any further ahead. What I do know is that one has to just KEEP pushing forward and know ALL WILL BE OK. It’s when we STOP and get weary and think I can’t, is what gets us into trouble. One HAS TO preserver in everything you do. I’ve said it before that you will find an inner strength that you didn’t even know was there. Just know that IT was there ALL the time. You just have to awaken it. Remember the little story book about the Little Train, I Think I can, I Think I can. Well, WE CAN!!!
Last week a DEAR friend gave us a ton of plants that she needed to thin out and in that, were ALOT of strawberry plants. So yesterday I had a couple of kids that come every week to help in whatever is needed to be done. So the little guy, that can OUT TALK me by a mile, helped me with planting the strawberries. Now we didn’t plant them like the norm. NO, Deborah does things DIFFERENT. We planted them in gutters. YES, old beat up gutters. We filled the gutters with soil and planted the plants near the top of the soil and about 20 inches apart. Added some manure and now they are ready for Randy to put the gutter at the TOP of the garden fence and let them grow like grapes. No need for straw or the fruit rotting from getting wet from the ground. When putting the gutters on the top of the fence, you make a” V” type support every two feet or so to hold up the weight. Also you drill MANY holes in the gutters for drainage. So that’s next on his “To Do List”. TOP of HIS list that is. Ha, Ha, HA, no pun intended. Get it, TOP of the list, TOP of the fence, anyway. I did not realize the amount of strawberry plants she gave, till you start dividing them up. I think I’ll have enough to go ALL around the entire garden. Like REALLY!!! I’ll put the pictures up in the GALLERY once Randy gets the gutters put up.
One other thing my husband Randy and I have decided to do is, he takes Fridays off for the next two months from his Owner/Operator job and help me with things that otherwise would NOT get done. Yea, it’s going to be hard on the pocket book, but sometimes we have to sacrifice in order to see the fruits of our labour, LATER.
Who knows what kind of DIRT I’ll get into next week. You ALL come back now, and see the PROGRSS it takes to get the VISION on its way. There is always a MESS before the finished product, no matter what it is you are doing.
